Children can become an “author” by following a prompt, hear a story, and complete various activities (discussion questions, test your knowledge quiz, create booklists, links to websites created specifically for boys and girls with reading lists, and many more).

Developed by the University of Oregon, DIBELS is a common assessment program found in may schools. DIBELS stands for the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills. The test is research-based and designed to be a quick and simple way to measure the development of literacy skills in students from kindergarten to sixth grade. Both teachers and parents have access to book lists that are broken down by themes, grade levels, and reading levels. Teachers are offered strategies and ideas along with information on book fairs. There are also lesson plans offered for teachers. Parents also have access to book lists, tips for student success in school, printables & activities, and blogs about reading. Students have access to books, literacy games, and videos. Under the kids tab, subdivisions are created based on the student’s age.
